Vindicated? Not Really.

Last week, Ray McBerry sent out a campaign email saying he was “vindicated”.

The problem is, that email alone was full of lies, and so was the affidavit.

Specifically:

Karen Handel Is Being Ms. Leading

Okay, so that was a blatant play on words in the title. She may have won a straw poll or two – and I’m not even sure about that – but this post is about Handel being misleading.

Here’s the setup:

Yesterday at around 11a, Austin Scott posted this tweet to his feed:

Just signed qtrly wage and tax returns. That is something Karen Handel has never done. Of course Karen wasn’t Deputy Chief of Staff either.

His point on the first bit was that Handel has been going around claiming to have “created” jobs, yet she has never run a business of her own. But that isn’t the one that led to so much curiosity.

You see, both Icarus and Erick were apparently writing on PeachPundit about this tweet at the same time. Neither of them specifically mentioned the latter part of that tweet in their initial article, but Icarus asked about it in one of his comments on his article.

And here’s where Ms. Handel becomes Ms. Leading:

Ox Is Buying The Honors He Brags About

Earlier today, the Cobb County GOP and Cobb County GOP Women held some kind of Veteran’s Celebration. After the event, Ox put the following up on twitter:

Honor to sit at head table @ the Veterans Celebration hosted by the Cobb GOP & Cobb GOP Women in Marietta. There were true heroes present.

What he forgot to mention is that he paid $1,000 to sponsor the event, and the sponsorship came with a seat at said head table. It wasn’t an honor he earned in any way – he bought it. You see, the people this celebration was honoring served with honor and integrity, even if they never actually saw a battlefield. Ox uses his goons to bully 15 year old boys. He didn’t even belong in the same BUILDING as those veterans – as the organizers of the event well knew, hence the reason he had to BUY his seat of honor at the event.

Ox Is Imploding – and Now There Is Proof

Yeah, remember that latest poll I talked about this morning? Honestly, I had just glanced over it and checked a few facts as it related to specifically that poll.

Tonight, I’ve been looking at that poll as it relates to other polls, specifically the two other polls by the same company – they release them every two months on the same day, meaning that the next one will be 3 days before Christmas.

Ox is imploding, and the proof is after the jump.

[UPDATED] John Oxendine vs Kyle Constable, The Update

For those who have missed what has transpired today, let me give you a brief rundown.

Shortly after I posted my take on Kyle’s encounter with Jeff Breedlove last night, Erick Erickson picked it up on Peach Pundit. Over the course of the day, that post alone came to draw nearly 150 comments – a rarity, in my experience, even on PeachPundit.

But that wasn’t the only thing that happened today with this story. Around 12:30, Creative Loafing, the AJC’s direct competitor, ran the story in their Fresh Loaf blog – and called me a Republican in the process, which I corrected in the comments.

And the story continued to grow, with the Oxendine campaign issuing this statement, resulting in a second post on Peach Pundit on this issue:

An Interesting Scenario

Keeping track of the day’s political news, I came across this article from Jim Galloway over at the AJC’s Political Insider.

The particularly interesting tidbit, particularly considering some of the things he mentions in it and some things I just discussed when analyzing Nathan Deal’s disclosure, is this, regarding a potential Special Session of the General Assembly and fundraising:

Candidates for governor who hold state office — including Republicans Eric Johnson, Karen Handel, John Oxendine and Austin Scott — would be barred from raising money.

But U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal, the choice of House Republican leaders, would not be prohibited — because his current office is federal.

[Why is this interesting?]

Thurbert Baker Caught Cheating

Jason has the story over at PeachPundit, but here’s the basics:

Thurbert Baker reported on his Jan 1, 2009 – June 30, 2009 disclosure report that he had raised $704,331.00.
[OK, so where did he cheat?]
