Last night while enjoying an adult beverage and a cigar on my front porch I saw blatant misuse of county assets that SHOULD cost an employee their job. I watched the Lee County mosquito spray truck enter my neighbors yard and spray the front and back yard of their PRIVATE property. I immediately notified County Chairman Ed Duffy of the time and place of the incident. In these days of economic crunch it’s time to keep a vigilant eye out for clear misuse of county assets.
Was the property in Lee County, Tim?
Yes, the property in question is in Lee County
Not taking sides, but I really don’t see the problem. Mosquitos do cross from private property to public property and vice-versa. Although, I will confess that I’m not familiar with the property to which you are referring, regarding: size, location, standing water, infestation levels, etc.
BTW, I like your avatar. Is that an M203 in the pic? That was my weapon when in the mil.
The problem is the County Spray truck is for spraying county right of way and locations with standing water that may be a problem for the County. This was simply someone doing a resident of the county a favor on the taxpayers dollar.
If not the county would have to spray EVERY yard of every resident in the county, that is the issue.
Yes it is a M203.
Finding out some interesting things about this little piece of property across the street. I’d love to be able to lease an acre from the County for $1/ mo, which may well be the case. Either way the County is taking action, so I’m satisfied with the process thus far.
Jeff, are you going to tell us the truth about misuse of the City of Leesburg assets? Look no further than the Mayor’s conflict of interest in the placement of legal ads.
Brian,
There is only so much I can do from the outside.
