Per an email blast from WALB, the Dougherty County School Board has decided to keep Joshua Murfree as their choice for Superintendent, despite the legality of that move. But then again, what do you expect in Albany, GA where laws only apply to subjects like us.
For the record, I am not saying that Murfree wouldn’t be a good School Superintendent. However, the process wasn’t followed through and frankly, him ranking so low among the various candidates makes me wonder if they think the rankings mean something different than the rest of us believe. If you going to have a process, and laws, then those who govern need to be bound by those same laws.
Their refusal to do that has put them in the crosshairs of a lot of politically active folks in this community. Their days in office are numbered.
And after reading the Albany Herald this AM, Robert’s Rules of Order as well.
