Much talk has been happening in Republican circles about “fighting back” against the Democrats this year. The problem is, Republicans were little different when they were in power than Democrats are now. The bailouts, “stimulus”, TARP, No Child Left Behind, PATRIOT Act, both unconstitutional wars we are currently involved in, and Medicare Part D (the GOP version of Obamacare) were all GOP creations.
The GOP, both in Georgia and across the nation, has proven over and over that when it comes to issues of lower taxes, more freedom, and less government involvement in our lives, they absolutely cannot be trusted. They have proven over and over again – as recently as TODAY – that they are more interested in good-ole-boy back room deals than in actually protecting our rights.
But people are waking up to that more and more. They realize that the GOP and the Democrats are just opposite sides of the same coin.
Fortunately, we have an answer for this problem.
That answer is the Libertarian Party of Georgia.
Tomorrow, LP-Georgia will be running the ONLY fiscal conservative in the special election for Senate District 22 in Augusta, Taylor Bryant.
In another all-but-certain upcoming special election, David Montane will be challenging Jimmy Carter’s grandson Jason Carter for the State Senate seat being vacated by Deputy Minority Whip David Adelman so that he can be appointed as Barack Obama’s Ambassador to Singapore.
LP-Georgia’s Secretary of State candidate, David Chastain, has a history of actively working to lower taxes in Cobb County as well as actively working to get a paper trail on Georgia electronic voting machines – something Karen Handel once campaigned on, then promptly forgot about once in office.
LP-Georgia’s challenger to US Senator Johnny Isakson, Chuck Donovan, is a former Marine fighter pilot who has written two excellent essays on why he left the Republican Party.
And finally, LP-Georgia’s coup-de-grace: John Monds. It is certain that Monds will be the ONLY liberty-oriented candidate on the ballot for Governor in November, with both the GOP and Democrats likely to put up more of the same candidate that has already proven to fail when it comes to reducing government involvement in our lives, lowering taxes, and securing our liberties. When John gets 20% of the vote in November, the Libertarian Party of Georgia will attain equal footing with the Democratic Party of Georgia and the Republican Party of Georgia and will have full ballot access to run candidates in any partisan race we can find someone willing to run.
2010 truly is The. Year. We. Fight. Back! to restore our liberties and reduce both taxes and government interference in our lives.
The Libertarian Party of Georgia is the ONLY Party with the ability to make this happen.
