Lajuanna Woods has resigned her position to avoid possible prosecution according to an email from WALB received just moments ago. Woods, you may recall, received one of the controversial fascade grants despite her restaurant being outside of the downtown redevelopment area.
We will continue following this story throughout the day as more information becomes available.
Now the city just needs to get a judgment on the debt and levy on her property, if not immediately repaid. At the very least, they would be able to record a judgment in the General Execution Docket to thwart any future avoidance if she tries to sell out and leave.
Get the money from her. The money. Get it.
Oh. …and disband ADICA before they spend any more money. Don’t allow them to run up the $6m bond money.
I sincerely hope that there is something done to force the issue on the money she owes. If not, then it’s yet another lapse in judgement among those in charge.
