SWGAPolitics.com Out and About Today

Tom and I will both be out and about in public today, though not officially on SWGAPolitics.com work.

We will be at the Leesburg Christmas Parade in about an hour with our families, where Tom and his son are marching in the parade with the area Cub Scouts.

LP-SWGA has a general meeting today, and Tom and I are the Vice Chair and Chair, respectively.

My wife and I will also be at the outdoor movie in Leesburg tonight which caps off the Lee County Spirit of Christmas festival. It starts at 6p tonight, and it promises to be an enjoyable experience for the whole family!

We hope to see you out there!

Johnny Isakson Has at Least One Challenger

A former Marine Pilot has decided to do what Johnny Isakson refuses to: uphold the Constitution in Congress and fight for our freedom on the grounds of Capitol Hill just as hard as he fought for our freedom in the skies when he served in the Marine Corps during the Reagan administration.

In a quote on his website, Chuck Donovan says “As a Marine Corps officer, I learned that one must lead from the front. The Democratic and Republican party leadership have refused to make the difficult, unpopular decisions necessary to correct the problems they themselves have brought upon our great country. They have led us into a very dangerous and unprecedented situation from which there is no painless way out. Still, they only respond with more government.”

Donovan also said “Because the Republicans and Democrats have consistently delivered bigger government, more complex taxation, deeper debt and more egregious violations of our Bill of Rights, I believe the Libertarian Party is the only hope to restore our Constitution, our economy, and our rights.” in an email message to the Libertarian Party of Southwest Georgia.

With a campaign slogan of “My mission is Freedom. My time is now.”, I look forward to hearing more from Mr. Donovan in the coming months!
