The Question Ray McBerry Ducked
Here’s his speech from Saturday’s Tift Area Tea Party Patriot’s GOP GAGOV Round Robin, in two parts because it was roughly 12 minutes long and Youtube has a strict 10 minute limit.
In this video, McBerry flat out admits to being a Theocrat. He also says he was a history teacher in public and private schools at K-12 and university levels – this will play a key role in a few minutes…
The one good thing he says is when he admits that the problems in Washington are not just because of Democrats, but also because of Republicans. “It is time that we stop giving people a pass at the ballot box because they have a R beside their name or a D beside their name” was probably the single statement he said that I could not possibly agree more with.
But leading into the second video, he says “Citizens who rise up from the population who believe in those founding principles and are willing to take a stand against ALL the enemies of our liberty.”
In this one, he has a GREAT idea – that will never work. He says he wants to repeal both the income tax and the property tax because they are “marxist to the core” and replace them with a simple sales tax. Sounds great, but how does he plan to do it and how high will that tax have to be and on what goods and services? A great line here that I completely agree with though is “There is no reason that any American citizen – let alone a Georgian – should have to worry about losing his own home or her own home at the end of the year because they didn’t pay rent to the government!”
Then he goes off on the Theocracy again re: abortion. Not surprising given who his campaign manager and right hand man are.
Then, he takes on the Federal government saying that if a Federal agent is doing their job and he doesn’t like it, that Federal agent will be sitting in a Georgia jail waiting for someone to come bail them out.He goes into even stronger rhetoric along these lines during the question and answer part of the round robin, which I will point out when I discuss that particular video.
I didn’t get to ask my question in Tifton though, and after the event Ray was very attentive to me when I requested to ask him my question and video his answer – until I told him, upon his request, that the general vein of the question was how far he was willing to go.
At that point, Ray McBerry ducked out on this question:
Mr. McBerry, you said earlier that you have quite a bit of experience as a history teacher. You also spoke of putting Federal agents in jail and withholding money from the Federal government if you thought they didn’t have a right to it. As a history teacher, you should know that traditionally holding agents of a government in prison has strained relationships among governements, at best, and sometimes led directly to war. You should also know as an experienced history teacher that the number one cause of war throughout history is money and economics.
So my question is simple, Mr. McBerry: Are you willing to go to war with the United States Government?

SWGA…I don’t think you know what a theocracy or a theocrat is. As an example, I invite you to look at any of Islamic states in the middle east. If you go against the religion it is a crime. I have news for you: abortion is not an issue of religion, it is an issue of taking the life of another human being. Now, if Mr. McBerry proposed fines for not attending Church services, mandatory jail time for unsavory and blasphemous language, or the abolishment of any religion except his own, or those he deemed right, in the state of Georgia, that would be a theocracy. Insisting on certain standards of public morality (like not stealing or murdering) does not constitute a theocracy.

So, as I see it , Ray McBerry is a parttime minister, failed radiotalk show host, paranoid “states rights” isolationist, who wants to turn our states law enforcement agents against our states federal law enfoecement agents if he doesnt get his way. And I thought we were ALL Georgians. I guess our states Republican tent will be getting much smaller rather than larger and more inclusive if he ever gets elected. Im American by birth, and Christian by choice. McBerry should realize even Christians have the right to differ on opinions related to abortion. Thats why we are a nation of laws ,which are dealt with in a court of law , not a church pew or McBerrys political campaign. And as a Christian myself, Id have to tell Mr. McBerry, God did not give you the right to bear arms. Many American Patriots gave their lives for you to enjoy that right. Lets give credit where credit is due. I love and cherish my religion of choice and I will continue to proudly pledge allegiance to the flag of the UNITED Stares of America, for It is that flag which allows me to practice my religion or choice.God bless America, and ALL its states citizens. And by the way Ray, God called looking for you, he wants his throne back.

Ron Williams:
The Constitution does not give us the right to bear arms. The Constitution only says that the government cannot take that right away.
