GA State Representative Calls For War Against US Government

As I was checking Facebook before heading out to work, I came across the status in the screen grab after the jump from State Representative Bobby Franklin (R-Marietta).

In it, he states “As we remember our veterans today, let’s hope that someday soon maybe perhaps some will be willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom here at home.” (emphasis mine)

This is a CLEAR call for Civil War – soon – from a sitting member of the Georgia General Assembly!!!!

Of course, he is also a complete moonbat whackjob that no one in power listens to, and very few not in power listen to.

And he is EXTREMELY closely associated with “States’ Rights” Governor Candidate Ray McBerry – indeed, he is the sponsor for those 10 States’ Rights bills McBerry is so proud of!

I will update this story later tonight with more details and thoughts.

"As we remember our veterans today, let's hope that someday soon maybe perhaps some will be willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom here at home."

The revolution stuff is nothing with which to play. Sounds fun and insightful to a certain degree to reasonable people but then some sick mind loads a U-haul with fertilizer or gets in a bell tower with his baseball cap turned backwards. As I wrote on my blog yesterday, remember Fort Sumter. Is that what it has come too?

I don’t know. It would be easy to interpret this as a call for outright war but I don’t see it that way. It could also be interpreted as a call for people who might have to stand up to a corrupted federal government, future that is, which has changed into an unrecognizable shell of its former self.

You stated he is close with Ray McBerry. I heard McBerry’s speech several weeks ago and it sounds as if Franklin is relaying his interpretation of something I heard in that speech where McBerry stated he would stand against corrupt unconstitutional federal orders such as disarming lawful citizens such as was done after Hurricane Katrina. But I could be wrong.

Pretty hard to misinterpret “ultimate price”

Please people lets take the comment in context. If you read the article posted with the comment it is easy to understand the context.
I agree with Franklin in the hope that there are some Americans who place a high value on their rights and the rights of others. If you are unable to understand it or frightened by the prospect of it. Then perhaps you are convicted by your own words.

    Ron322,

There was no article posted with the comment – and the screenshot proves that. The ONLY context given for the statement I emphasized was “As we remember our veterans today”.

In other words, Franklin KNEW how crazy he was being in calling for outright war against the US Government on Veterans Day, and he did it anyway.

I guess you do not understand the format.
Under the comment is a link to the article in BLUE the title is: Random Police Stops Increasing Fast / The BARR Code.
Even without the article, it is a leap of speculation to say he is calling for WAR SOON.
My undrstanding of the comment is in the context of how many of our Military have died (ultimate price) promoting freedom abroad, while here at home it is fading fast. That is what I read as being implied in the comment.
Do you really believe Bobby is a leftist? Or liberal? That is the common meaning of MoonBat.
I suppose you are an authority on his mindset as well? Did you bother to ask him what he meant?
This is a problem on all sides of political discourse. The same type of assumption that caused the Constitution is not law debacle.
It is very clear that you have an agenda, and part of that agenda seems to be to paint Franlin, McBerry, et al with the brush of Lunatic, fringe, radicals. That leads me to question your understanding of our Government and system of law and justice. You have also questioned the stated purpose of our Government pointing out the Declaration of Independence is not law. What you implied by that statement is the purpose of our Government is not important and it is only the letter of the law that matters.
That is the fundemental difference between legal and lawful. One last note.Paying the ultimate price for ones freedom does not mean taking up arms to defend it. It does mean being willing to die rather than consent to servitude.

    Ron322,

I just now actually looked at the screengrab (yesterday’s comment was from memory, which apparently was faulty), and you are correct in that there IS a link there.

That said, this comment combined with the bills he has introduced can leave no doubt that Bobby Franklin and Ray McBerry want war with the US Government. I don’t have to “paint Franlin, McBerry, et al with the brush of Lunatic, fringe, radicals” – they’re doing it themselves!!!.

All that I am “implying” with my statement that the Declaration of Independence is not law is that we are a nation of laws – not religion – and that the Declaration is NOT among those laws!

  8. ron322 Says:

I agree we are a nation of laws. However if we lose the intent of the law (to secure the blessings of liberty) then we are left with the letter of the law and nothing else. The law must be formed to serve the stated function of Government. We have lost sight of that purpose and in my opinion that is why we are in the situation we now have.
I believe it is the Government that has declared we the people as an enemy of the State. You can find that fact in the trading with the enemies act, amended (1933). McBerry and Franklin among others want Government to serve the people and stop using the law as a weapon to force compliance with laws that favor a few at the expense of the majority.
