Gerry Purcell was at the Tifton Forum this past Saturday and took a few moments to speak to me about interstate sales of insurance. This is an issue where he and at least one of his competitors disagree, and these are Purcell’s thoughts on the matter.
So simple and logical! Gerry is definitely the man for this job and he’ll do it right, for sure! You can’t beat his experience, passion, and intelligence.
I think I need to change my user name!
Who would have thought 2 Donna D’s on the same blog in a small town?
I think that makes us special, don’t you???
Absolutely!
I don’t want people upset with you when I write something they disagree with though!
Gerry Purcell has won every straw poll I have seen. From what I can tell is the real deal with real solutions to challenging questions. I like what he has to say and he has my support!
Seriously. I’d rather see Gerry Purcell run for governor than anyone in the current field of candidates. But since he’s not, I’ll support him for state insurance chief.
I have heard one of Mr. Purcell’s opponents talk about this issue. Unfortunatley Mr. Purcell says you currently buy your car insurance from across state lines, but you are actually buying a policy that is regulated by the GA Dept. of Insurance and not another state(this shows his lack of understanding). In regards to BCBS of AL, according to Mr. Purcell AL has less mandates by about 24 mandates. According to http://www.ahipresearch.org/pdfs/smallgroupsurvey.pdf the premiums are about 11.5% less than GA in the small group market. I will take 24 more mandates for 11.5% in premium difference. There has got to be some mandates that make enough since for 11.5% more in premium. Go check out the other candidates and look at Stephen Northington. He has the most insurance experience.
