Well folks, it looks like “those tea bag people” (as the President refers to them) are at it again. What is the protest about this time? Those crazy people are always complaining about higher taxes, less freedom, bigger debt, socialized medicine. What is on their plate now? I’ll tell you what. Farmer relief.
That’s right! The Tea Party Patriots have partnered with various other organizations to form a Farmer Relief and Freedom Relay which takes place November 8-22nd. The relay will benefit the California farmers who have been hit with devastating legislation which will limit their irrigation needs in an effort to protect the delta smelt, a small fish commonly used for bait. The legislation will be implemented within the next few weeks. When this happens, farmers will not have access to the water that they need for 2010.
The US Marine Corps has a special place in the hearts of Jeff and Tom. As a naval corpsman, Tom worked closely with the Marines, and Jeff was once about to sign up to become one when his life suddenly veered in a different course that eventually led him to SWGA.
Albany also happens to have the Marine Corps Logistics Base, and quite a few people in SWGA are former Marines, many of whom have seen combat in various war zones over the last 60 years or so.
Today is the 234th anniversary of the creation of the United States Marine Corps, and we here at SWGAPolitics.com want to wish a happy birthday to the Corps and to every man and woman who has earned the title of US Marine.
Gerry Purcell was at the Tifton Forum this past Saturday and took a few moments to speak to me about interstate sales of insurance. This is an issue where he and at least one of his competitors disagree, and these are Purcell’s thoughts on the matter.
NO ONE in the GOP – not bloggers, not locals, not Congressmen, not Party leaders – has been able to answer this question, and I’ve been asking it since last Thursday:
How is this plan any less socialist than the Democrat plan that so many “conservatives” are all riled up about?
