Operation “House Call” Let Your Voice Be Heard

Operation “House Call” is in full swing this Thursday. Many are taking a trip to Washington, D.C. to pay a visit to their Representatives and Senators and urging them to vote “No” on the new health care bill that is being presented. This one is 1900 pages long and appears to be worse than the one proposed by the House in September.

If you cannot get to Washington Thursday morning, all is not lost. Columbus, Thomasville, and Albany are each participating in Operation “House Call” on Thursday at 12noon at Representative Sanford Bishop’s district offices. We have made great strides with protests, rallies, and Tea Parties, but the time to get soft is not now.

Hope you can attend. Bring a friend and a sign. Help spread the word and we will see you tomorrow at the Albany Tower at noon.

I’ll be there with bells on!! Has anyone contacted WALB or WFXL?

I don’t know if Donna has. I know that the news services often read this blog. If anybody wants to notify them directly, that would be great!

I have sent all of the media an email to let them know-I haven’t phoned them. Everyone get the word out at church tonight. We have to put pressure on the ‘blue dog’ who is our representative. Though we may think he is a lap dog, this is an opportunity for him to show he does work for the best interest of his constituents. If not, we can help him pack next year. I fully believe voting yes on the health care bill will be the final nail in Congressman Bishop’s coffin.

    Donna,
I know of people in the district that are going to DC. Perhaps if we are at each of his district offices and at his office in DC he will listen to us. It is time to be worthy of the inheritance that we have received from our founding fathers!

Thanks to everyone that came out on such short notice. I think 35 on 3 days notice is great. The opposition only had 4!

    Keep calling, writing and praying!

  • Turns out the GOP version of the bill simply FORCES employers to provide insurance to their employees – which violates the Right of Private Contract and will lead directly to higher prices on goods and services as employers have to spend more money on personnel. This may as well be a tax increase, it has the same effect.

At least the Democrats are honest about raising taxes to pay for universal health insurance and about FORCING their will on the American Public.

Me, I oppose BOTH plans. Let people pay for their own care – and if they choose to use insurance, they can negotiate with their employer to have that as a benefit or take a higher salary without the insurance, assuming the employer is open to working with them.

BTW: Here’s the WFXL story. It should have video later, maybe tomorrow morning. Or you can watch at 6:30 and 10 tonight to see the video first hand!

I wish that were a surprise. As they have shown for years, they just don’t ‘get it’. Substance over style. Many want to talk the conservative talk, but not walk it. I predict those people will not get elected again.
