Yeah, remember that latest poll I talked about this morning? Honestly, I had just glanced over it and checked a few facts as it related to specifically that poll.
Tonight, I’ve been looking at that poll as it relates to other polls, specifically the two other polls by the same company – they release them every two months on the same day, meaning that the next one will be 3 days before Christmas.
Ox is imploding, and the proof is after the jump.
The first one, on June 22, was Ox’s high-water mark at 35%. On that poll, he was ranked as highly favorable by 26%, somewhat favorable by 35%, somewhat unfavorable by 12%, and very unfavorable by 6% – with 20% unsure about him.
The next one, on Aug 21, showed Ox’s support dropping to 31%, with 22% very favorable, somewhat favorable at 41%, somewhat unfavorable at 8%, 5% very unfavorable, and 24% unsure.
Today’s poll showed Ox’s support once again dropping by 4%, now to 27%, with 21% very favorable, 40% somewhat favorable, 10% somewhat unfavorable, 7% very unfavorable, and 22% not sure.
Perhaps the most interesting thing throughout all of this though is Ox’s response. You see, Ox sent out an email today that bore uncanny resemblance to another email he sent out at another time when his campaign was in full-blown panic mode – literally 48 hrs before the initial story of the Campaign Contribution Scandal.
Indeed, I now post selections from both emails for your own comparison:
May:
Lies, rumors, and more lies – get used to them. You will be subjected to them on an almost daily basis it appears. Because John is a solid, Ronald Reagan conservative, who will offer positive solutions to Georgia’s issues, our opponents and the status quo will avoid entering into debates on the issues. All that will be left is to lie and spread rumors. We will hold the line and stay positive.

Lies, rumors, and more lies. We told you to get used to them. John Oxendine has been subjected to them on an almost daily basis. Team Oxendine has experienced a series of personal, negative attacks from some of our opponents. Regardless of how negative any opponent goes though, John and Team Oxendine will never attack the personal life of one our opponents. We plan to stick to the issues.
The main campaign I’ve seen blatantly lieing and lieing some more is John Oxendine’s. It is seriously to the level of if he tells you the sky is blue, you’d better be looking up. After all, he lied about the campaign contributions, he lied about his own electoral history, and he even lied about the results of the Aug Rasmussen survey discussed above!
May:
John Oxendine is committed to a positive, issues-oriented campaign which empowers the grassroots of the Georgia Republican Party and the taxpayers of Georgia. Team Oxendine has been told to expect a series of personal, negative attacks from at least two of our opponents. Regardless of how negative any opponent goes, John and Team Oxendine will never, ever attack the personal life of one our opponents – we plan to stick to the issues.
October:
John Oxendine is committed to a positive, issues-oriented campaign which brings together a broad coalition of grassroots Republicans, Fair Tax supporters, Tea Party Patriots, Reagan Democrats, states’ rights supporters, pro-lifers, hunters, and many others. These Oxendine supporters are disenchanted with the status quo in our executive branch. They know that John is a solid, Reagan conservative who will offer positive solutions to Georgia’s issues. Unfortunately, our opponents and the status quo hate the fact that John Oxendine is a true conservative and will do all they can to stop his positive Contract with Georgia.
I guess running a “positive, issues oriented” campaign now includes bullying 15 yo boys and trying to tell another campaign what they can or cannot do with their own personal vehicles now – not to mention the constant attacks on Handel and Barnes.
May:
John Oxendine has received more votes in three of the past four general elections in Georgia than any other single candidate on the ballot of either party.

This one is a blatant lie. He wasn’t on the ballot in 2 of the last 4 general elections, and Democrats got more votes than his last election in each of those. Furthermore, even counting the last four general elections he was involved in, Zell Miller got more votes than he did in 1994, and Tommy Irvin got more votes than he did in 1998.
Thanks for keeping us informed Jeff. We can always rely on you for the real facts. I look forward to following the election on your blog over the next year. You guys have done a great job considering your blog is still pretty new. Keep up the good work.
