Galloway is ill-informed

In the October 14 edition of the Albany Journal, my interview with Rebecca Schanberg is paired with an op-ed written by filmmaker Ron Galloway where he defends Phoebe against the onslaught that may result from Do No Harm. Galloway was also quoted in Wednesday’s Albany Herald saying that people shouldn’t make films about subjects they don’t know anything about.

Buie Indicted

WALB is reporting that Don Buie has been indicted on 17 crimes.

Per the Albany Herald, also indicted was Shannon Buie, Buie’s ex-wife; Nicole Brown, Buie’s girlfriend; and Tim Washington, owner of the Dollar Square store at the heart of much of the controversy.

Charges include theft by taking, conspiracy to defraud, and making false statements.

Understanding the difference

In the wake of Do No Harm, I have once again heard the choir scream about how it’s unfair to target Phoebe because there are great people there, blah blah blah. Frankly, I’m a little tired of these people who can’t get their head out of their own butt to understand what the issue is here. They, with the help of people like Joel Wernick, seem incapable of grasping the fact that they’re not the target of any of the criticism.
