No Obama No Peace…Really?

My family and I just returned from visiting the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia. I stopped by the booths for the Republican and the Democrat Party. The Republicans were selling shirts with images of the Don’t Tread on Me flag and shirts with sayings like “I’ll Keep My Guns and Bible, You Keep The Change.” I found it interesting that the Republican party, at least at this booth, had co-opted the Tea Party movement. If the Republicans truly felt like that, we would likely not be in the mess that we are in. I dare say that the eyes of this country are open now. Pretending to be on the side of the Tea Party members won’t be enough if (and that is a big IF) they are trusted with their vote ever again.

Next I visited the Democrat booth. There was a life sized cut out of President Obama and a poster that read “2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner” by his feet. A woman that claimed to be part native American was visiting the booth. She was fawning all over the president. She said that she was glad that he won the Nobel Peace Prize. “That will encourage him to just keep going,” she said. The two ladies working the booth agreed. One said, “Yes, with God on his side, all things are possible.” This had me wondering what God she was talking about. After all, it was Obama who told Turkey that we are no longer a Christian nation. He basically ignored the National Day of Prayer and his administration insists that this year the Christmas trees will be called Holiday trees. Perhaps his God and mine are not the same.
