Losing my faith in humanity

This isn’t a clever title in the least.  It’s true.  First, Roman Polanski’s arrest was a great thing.  The fact that so many people have risen up to defend this piece of filth was more than enough to cause me to lose my faith in mankind.  However, it’s only the first thing that happened.  Next, we have a police officer accused of child molestation.  That doesn’t  do it either, but is another step towards losing my faith.

Calling In the Feds Over a Tweet?

Friday, the FBI spent 16 hours ransacking a man’s home.

His alleged offense? It wasn’t murder. It wasn’t rape. It had nothing to do with destruction of private property or any kind of attack on any person. He didn’t even threaten any of these actions.

No, this man’s home was ransacked for 16 hours because he dared spread information about police movements at the G20 protests.

One very telling statement from the man, Elliott Madison, is “They arrested me for doing the same thing everybody else was doing, which was perfectly legal,” he said. “It was crucial for people to have the information we were sending.”, from this New York Times article.
