Jeff Is Running for Governor

Did I get your attention?

I am actually running for Leesburg City Council, but there is another Jeff in this State that has thrown his hat in the ring for Governor – making him the 7th Republican to do so. That particular Jeff is State Senator Jeff Chapman (R-Brunswick).

Chapman is most known for his staunch opposition to efforts by many under the Gold Dome to redevelop Jekyll Island. Because of this stance and others, he is not popular with Gold Dome leadership, and this has allowed him to claim a justified “maverick” label. Apparently, he also has a perfect score from the Republican Liberty Caucus (the “libertarian” wing of the GOP).

I’m interested in hearing what the guy has to say, and I’ve already heard from a couple of our loyal readers (and commenters) that are really excited about this entry.

From a practical standpoint, this probably hurts State Senator Eric Johnson (R-Savanah), also a candidate for Governor, the most by dividing his local base in the primary – but it could also help him by providing another angle for news coverage of both Johnson and Chapman.

  • I am so excited about Senator Chapman running for Governor. I know Jeff and can only label him as “A Man of the People.” He has worked hard for the people of his District and the State of Georgia. Not only has he worked to keep Jekyll Island an affordable State Park, he has worked hard to maintain our property rights via eminent domain. I was not happy with the eminent domain bill that finally passed, but without Senator Chapman the bill would have been much much worse.

Senator Chapman is exactly what we have all been saying we need A true conservative, a real honest to God conservative! A man that will and has worked with Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to get the job done. He will side with Democrats or Independents over Republicans if the legislation warrants it.

The elite and the republican base hate him. He can’t be bought and they can’t scare him. I can’t wait for ya’ll to meet him and get to know him.

Chapman for Governor! A Candidate that I support 100% without hesitation. Most of ya’ll know me and must be surprised to hear me speak so highly of any politician. LOL. No, I don’t need to take off my rosy red glasses. I lived in Glynn County and watched Jeff during his two terms as County Commission. I lived in Glynn during Jeff’s 1st term in the Ga Senate. I have kept up with him since I’ve moved to Middle Ga and I know that he deserves the reputation of “A Man of the People.”
