[UPDATED] John Oxendine vs Kyle Constable, The Update

For those who have missed what has transpired today, let me give you a brief rundown.

Shortly after I posted my take on Kyle’s encounter with Jeff Breedlove last night, Erick Erickson picked it up on Peach Pundit. Over the course of the day, that post alone came to draw nearly 150 comments – a rarity, in my experience, even on PeachPundit.

But that wasn’t the only thing that happened today with this story. Around 12:30, Creative Loafing, the AJC’s direct competitor, ran the story in their Fresh Loaf blog – and called me a Republican in the process, which I corrected in the comments.

And the story continued to grow, with the Oxendine campaign issuing this statement, resulting in a second post on Peach Pundit on this issue:

Cutting out the tumor

Yeah, Mayor Adams’ analogy really got under my skin. However, since Buie’s no longer part of the “team”, perhaps the mayor would be so kind as to answer a few questions and then I will personally be glad to put this puppy to bed if the answers are satisfactory. Let’s see if the tumor is really gone.

Oh what a tangled web

Don Buie is gone, but a long way from forgotten, apparently much to the chagrin of Mayor Willie Adams. In an interview with WALB’s Karen Cohilas, Adams said that the Buie situation was like a cancer in medicine and claims you just cut it out an move on. Mayor Adams would just love that, wouldn’t he?

First, let’s hope that Mayor Adams was just being figurative and simple for the sake of a sound bite, because if this is the way he practices medicine, then I pray no one has died from it. Continue reading Oh what a tangled web
