… because Freedom is ALWAYS the Answer

I’m on the LP-Ga Executive Committee Conference Call right now, and Garrett Micheal Hayes, the LP-Ga nominee for Governor in 2006, just officially proposed that the Party adopt the title of this post:

… because Freedom is ALWAYS the Answer

as the new Libertarian Party of Georgia slogan.

Personally, I like it.

As an Executive Committee, we want your input.

Please let me know in the comments what you think – or, if you have any ideas for another one, feel free to put it up. I’ll forward all input back to the ExComm when we meet again one month from tonight.

(Mike Keown vs Lee Ferrell) vs Sanford Bishop

I met with State Rep Mike Keown (R-Coolidge) today for lunch over at Riverfront BBQ (great food at a decently cheap price, btw) to discuss the 2nd District race and other issues, basically just to get a chance to meet him and for him to meet me.

The vast majority of that conversation was off the record, but I can tell you this:

He told me that he sent in the paperwork to DC to officially challenge Sanford Bishop in next year’s election and apparently, Don Cole has agreed to become his campaign manager.

Who should run?

With the Dougherty County Taxpayers Association’s Clean Sweep campaign underway, I thought it might be interesting to see the local names you think would make good City Commissioners.  Also, you’re of course free to defend current commissioners if you so choose as well.

After a busy week, what’s next?

After weeks of questions by just a handful of people, answers were finally given. Don Buie was doing all kinds of things he shouldn’t have been, the Dollar Square was getting a free ride, and no one knows why LaJuanna Woods got a grant she never should have. Frankly, it was just a busy week. And word coming down about ATI being in a hurry to shred whatever files the city didn’t take isn’t exactly going to curb that in the least. State School Superintendent Candidate Weekend

This coming weekend, I will be interviewing two State School Superintendent candidates.

I will be talking to Richard Woods, who is challenging incumbent Kathy Cox in the Republican primary, on Saturday morning for a sit down interview. I’ll try to have that transcript up no later than the following Saturday.

Sunday I will be doing a LiveBlog interview on this site with Brian Westlake at 3pm. The really cool thing about this particular forum? You can submit your own questions and have them answered in real time! That, plus I won’t have to transcribe it! :D

Seriously, I’m really looking forward to learning about these two candidates this weekend, and with school starting back I hope you are as well!

So please, join me Sunday to learn more about Mr. Westlake and his candidacy, and watch SWGAPolitics.com about a week from now for the transcript and audio of my talk with Mr. Woods!
