Protesting Healthcare Reform

August marks the summer recess for Congress. For many of the Blue Dog Democrats like Sanford Bishop (D-2-GA), it could be the Dog Days of Summer. The Blue Dog Democrats were credited with holding up the vote on the healthcare reform bill. News reports said that they held out for special compromises, but we have yet to learn what the compromises are. Have they helped us out by delaying the vote only to sell us down the river with some phony baloney compromise based on cooked numbers that show the system will pay for itself and be deficit neutral—an impossibility according to the CBO?

The dangers of no separation of church and state

Without those specific words actually being in the Constitution, it’s easy to see why many feel that there isn’t a wall present between the government and religion. For many, that wall blocks their ability to protect millions from sin and that the wall will ultimately lead to our downfall as a society. However, what is missed is that the lack of that wall would be disastrous for religions all over this nation.

The idea of the separation of church and state is as much of a protection for the faiths of this nation as it is a protection of this nation from the various faiths. Continue reading The dangers of no separation of church and state
