Come Have a Beer with SWGAPolitics.com and LP-SWGA!

Harvest Moon
Aug 28, 2009 (exactly 4 weeks from tonight)
7pm

We’ll keep you posted here if anything changes, but the current plan is just to hang out and drink beer/other assorted beverages, hopefully hear some good live music. Haven’t checked with Bo Henry, so I don’t know what he’s got planned that night, if anything.

Everyone of all political stripes, please feel free to join us!

Cool! Will Obama be there with the picnic table?

  • Tom

Nope. When he asked for a Bud Light, he shot himself in the foot for an invite. The President of the United States is expected to have a better taste in beer ;)

    What about “Beer with Buie”?

  • Tom

Who knows who all will show up :D

FreedomWorks is hosting a luncheon at Sunset Grill on the same day. If you don’t drink beer, join us for lunch. If you do drink beer, we will see you at both functions! RSVP through freedom.works@mchsi.com

It would be lunch, wouldn’t it? That’s always harder to do for me, but I’d love to make it. We’ll have to see.

  • Remember, even though beer is mentioned specifically, I’m pretty sure the Moon has many forms of alcohol available, for those that DO like alcohol but DON’T like beer (the blasphemers!).

Heck, even if you don’t drink beer, they have caffeine, which is almost as good (and won’t get you in trouble at work!).

The overall point is to come hang out and have fun.

  • After the long hot summer of drama and what not, something occurred to me at church today. Your up coming blog’s mixer at Harvest Moon could actually be “teachable moment” with an open invitation to the players in the area—breaking bread, having a beer or drinking sweet tea together.

And I mean everyone: the bloggers, the ADICA board, the mayor, the newspaper cats, the protest leaders, congressional staff if not members, the city manager, elected officials, community activists, business leaders —you name it.

Since you have a major blog, you guys are big players in the arena. This gesture would be a grand opportunity to point out that at the end of the day everyone has the region’s best interests in mind and no one has horns. (Okay, I would skip if my name rhymed with phooey.)

You have a another great idea. What do you say Jeff and Tom…open it up to everyone. Send them a personal invitation and an opportunity to get past the fascade and get to know the people.
