My Challenge to All Georgia Media (including Political Bloggers)

I just got back home about 20 minutes ago from walking with Austin Scott through downtown Bainbridge out to Climax, GA – 10 miles, most of it along side Highway 84, with the last mile being a county road going through Climax. More on that later.

Apparently, I am the ONLY person that has walked an entire day’s travels with Rep Scott. (Several have walked for various periods with him, including his son, Wells, who walked nearly 6 miles on the first day.)

We talked off the record about several different things, and it was honestly a nice chance to get to know this State Rep who has 14 years under his belt at that level and now wants to be Governor.

My feet are in some pretty severe pain, and even my legs already are making walking difficult. I’m fully aware that this is probably going to prove VERY interesting for me tomorrow. :/

But here’s my challenge to each and every political blogger in this State and even the professional journalists/media outlets, including newspapers, TV, and radio:

Let’s see you get out there and walk an entire day’s journey with him.

Whether you want to talk to him on the record or off, it gives you at least 3-5 hours or so to spend with him, getting to know both the man and the politician. Heck, you may even get few solid man-on-the-street quotes from the people that stop to give you water, as one couple did along 84 about 5 miles in, or at the little country stores where you eat – and by the way, the store we ate in in Climax had some dang good chicken fingers!

What do you say? I’ve pulled it off, are you up for it?
