Unofficial GOP Governor Candidate Rankings By Money Raised

With unofficial reports (ie, press releases and emails) from Johnson, Deal, Handel, and Oxendine, and with the State Ethics Commission site being down for the moment for whatever reason, the various emails I have gotten and the comments on PeachPundit are now showing the following ranking of the GOP Governor Candidates based on money raised for this round of disclosure reporting:

Nathan Deal: $980,000
Eric Johnson: $962,773
Karen Handel: $430,000
John Oxendine: $420,000
Austin Scott: $180,620
Ray McBerry: $18,596

I’ll do some more analysis once the State Ethics Commission website comes back up and all reports are in, but it certainly doesn’t look good for the two that until recently have been considered front runners: Ox and Handel.

Oxendine, says he will report tonight, over 1 million in cash on hand.

yeah, but the VAST majority of that was raised prior to January – when he was pretty much the only Republican in the race. Also note that I pointed out that these numbers are EXCLUSIVELY for contributions in the reporting period, not cash on hand. I’ll probably be doing several separate analyses of these numbers over the next couple of weeks, and that IS one of the things I’ll be pointing out.

Goody. Looks like we have a horse race.
