Tell him to vote NO on the massive tax increase that is HR 2454 “American Clean Energy and
Security Act of 2009″, AKA “Cap and Trade”.
Per Erick Erickson via twitter, Bishop has pledged to vote based on the number of calls he gets either way.
His DC office number is (202) 225-3631.
CALL NOW!!! The vote is within the next few hours of this post!
This is not true Congressman Bishop will not vote based on a tally. I used to intern in the office and it is not true.
I agree with John. This is a lie. Congressman Bishop votes for what’s in the best interest of his constituents.
James, I saw your comment when it first went up this afternoon, and I’ve been laughing ever since! Thanks!
On a serious note though, Bishop has ALWAYS voted for his OWN pocketbook or those of his cronies. He doesn’t give a DANG about the ‘best interest’ of his constituents – unless they are giving him the maximum amount of money they legally can.
Bishop is no different than most in the Congress. Generally, its members just don’t give a “rat”s patootey” what is good for the Country–and he is certainly no exception.
In my lifetime. the driving force in politics has totally changed to “stay in power at all costs”. After all, can you imagine Bishop et al being successful at an endeavor not set up by political tenure?
But, alas, Bishop would really have to moon walk on his crank multiple times to be defeated. He is a master at pandering to the large and increasing number of “takers” in his specially arranged district. Tax-paying “givers” get little consideration except for, of course, friends.
So, again, we have a House willing to rush to a vote on something that was neither read nor understood–and the bill has passed. And, once again, the “ship of fools” in Congress has run us aground.
We can only hope that the Senate, in a rear display of wisdom and concern, is willing to get the ship off the reef.
