"In one of the debates in mid-late 2007 in the Republican presidential primary, every candidate on the stage was asked about the current state of the economy and everyone on the stage but Huckabee answered that it was good and that the outlook was good. Huckabee said that the economy may be good now but that it was only a matter of time before it had a major crash. And he was mocked for that comment by his opponents. I think we know what happened with our economy after that."

Kyle, you're talking about RON PAUL, NOT Huckabee! Get your facts straight.

One more thing. I love how people say, "do your research. You know, I did. I spent awhile looking over Huckabee's fiscal record and I found disappointment after disappointment.

You may like the guy. He may make you feel all warm and fuzzy. He is a politican. That's what they do. He has also managed to pull the wool over a lot of people's eyes.

I left the tea party movement shortly after going on Fox News to defend it because of big government Republicans like Tax Hike Mike and Newt Gingrich getting involved.

You can continue to ignore the facts about Huck, but it's only because you, like most of the guy's supporters, live in a bubble and constantly ignore reality.

Let me make this clear, HE DID NOT RAISE TAXES. The only times taxes went up in the state of Arkansas is after Huckabee vetoed a tax bill and the DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED CONGRESS overturned it with the 2/3 majority vote. You can’t blame Huckabee for something that the state’s congress did.

They call him Tax Hike Mike for a reason.

Read it and weep...
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/huckabees_fiscal_record.html

Huck is a fraud. He is a collectivist, someone who puts the collective over individual and economic liberty.

You absolutely cannot call yourself a fiscal conservative or a believer in free-markets and support Mike Huckabee.

The one thing that makes me mad when Huckabee is brought up in a conversation is when someone says that he raised taxes. Let me make this clear, HE DID NOT RAISE TAXES. The only times taxes went up in the state of Arkansas is after Huckabee vetoed a tax bill and the DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED CONGRESS overturned it with the 2/3 majority vote. You can't blame Huckabee for something that the state's congress did.

Second, Governor Huckabee supports the FairTax which would lower the tax burden on the everyday American and increase GDP in the U.S. massively! I challenge everyone to go to the FairTax Calculator and figure out exactly how much you'll save annually:

Jason, I ask you, what are your grounds for calling Huckabee a socialist because he is in no way any form of a socialist.

I'm disappointed Huckabee wasn't the nominee. In one of the debates in mid-late 2007 in the Republican presidential primary, every candidate on the staged was asked about the current state of the economy and everyone on the stage but Huckabee answered that it was good and that the outlook was good. Huckabee said that the economy may be good now but that it was only a matter of time before it had a major crash. And he was mocked for that comment by his opponents. I think we know what happened with our economy after that.

Huckabee is a down to earth, conservative, Republican and he is not afraid to tell us, the American people, what's really happening in our country. The other candidates sugar-coated the situation and Huckabee just said the facts. I challenge all of you to do a little bit more research on Huckabee before making hasty conclusions as such have been made in previous comments.

As one of the organizers for the Plains Tea Party I can tell you I would never support Mike Huckabee for any office.

Kyle is an outstanding young man and I definitely admire his passion and hope that he continues to be active in politics.

Part of the mission of the tea party organizers to is educate our citizens on current issues, teach the Constitution, and motivate them to become involved in the political process. This is the reason more speakers are added to the agenda. I hope that we have more people that want to speak during the 'open mic' time at the Plains Independence Day Tea Party...if we do we will all gladly stay and listen!
