The Obama administration is now admitting that our troops are reading the Miranda Rights to captured enemy combatants on the battlefield. So now we are not only turning our back on enhanced interrogation methods, but we are actually telling the violent extremists, the president’s new code word for terrorists, that they have the right to remain silent. Unbelievable!
The new administration believes that this softer new approach will earn us brownie points among the terror…um…I mean extremists. Perhaps if they know we won’t dunk their heads in water they won’t cut the heads off of our journalists and soldiers. Sounds like a fair trade, right?
The Miranda Rights are read to citizens of this country to protect their Constitutional rights. They do not apply to people who are citizens of other countries unless you believe that our founding documents apply to all nations and President Obama is the savior of the universe. Are we turning terrorists into citizens now?
Our new Vice President warned that within six months this administration will be tested. I believe he is right. While we show the world how willing we are to engage the enemy with a hand or two behind our backs, we are showing weakness and encouraging such a test. The valentines that Obama is sending are truly spreading hope to our enemies. They see a glimmer of hope that the time is near for another attack.
