It’s Time For Answers

The world is going insane. An abortion doctor is gunned down in a church. The United States of America owns somewhere around 60-70% of General Motors. They already have significant stakes in several financial sector businesses. Our educational system is ranked near the bottom among industrialized nations. And all I can think of is the movie, “The American President”.

In the American President, there’s a scene near the end when the President keeps repeating “We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them.”  It’s always struck me an poignent, to say nothing of incredibly true.

Today, we have 46 million Americans without health care.  The President of the United States wants to ram a health care package down the throats of the American public that will jack up our taxes and eventually destroy the entire health insurance industry.  Mr. President, we have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them.

We have 2.1 million Americans in some form of correctional punishment for non-violent drug offenses in this country.  They were prosecuted for ingesting something into themselves and hurting no one else in the process.  Mr. President, we have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them.

We have thousands upon thousands of troops deployed to the Middle East.  They’re being killed in Iraq in a war based on fault intelligence and ego.  When President Obama was campaigning, he claimed he was going to pull our boys and girls out of Iraq.  So far, not much has happened on that front.  We don’t have time to screw around either.  Americans are being killed, and it’s time the Iraqi government stood on it’s own.  This is a time for serious people to solve serious problems, not for talking a good game and nothing more.

Today our economy is in shambles.  Earlier today, General Motors filed for bankruptcy protection.  The government rode in on it’s white horse to save the day and in the process managed to effectively nationalize one third of the auto industry.  This is a time for serious people, Mr. President.  People who can come up with solutions that don’t involve Marxist principles.

Our media covers ever thing the President does as if he’s a teen idol on the front page of Tiger Beat or something similar.  They don’t criticize him in any significant way, and that leaves it to people like Jeff, Bill and myself.  We have serious problems and need serious people to help solve them and a media that will remain skeptical of whoever is sitting in the oval office.

Our civil liberties have been curtailed significantly in recent years, from the PATRIOT Act to the recent move to require passports for American citizens to retrun to the United States.  Our fourth amendment is practically null and void, and our tenth amendment already is.

Speaking of the tenth amendment, several states have started talking about succession.  Our nation is being pulled apart at the seems by a divisive nature, and the President’s response is a smug demeanor and a superior air that makes it seem like he’s looking down on his opposition.

We have serious problems to solve, and we need serious people to solve them.  I’m ready to roll up my sleaves and get the job done.  Who on this Earth is with me?

Count me in. I am looking for a real discussion of the issues. I believe that if we are to overcome our problems we must start with the K-3rd grade and raise a nation that will obey. We must also work with what we have in making our communities, cities, counties and states more productive. any nations that is only consumers will not last long as a leader or power. We must lay aside every weight that so easily hold us down. We are not African Americans, German Americans, French Americans, Italian Americans, Spanish Americans, Mexican Americans, Hispanic Ameircans, Jewish Americans or any other Dash – Americans. WE are AMERICANS. and if you can not handle that you need to chose your country. I fought and shedded blood for my country and I did not do it as an African American I did it as an AMERICAN. Let’s get to work and make it a more perfect union.

One precinct at time, one district, one house seat, one Federal election. The war in Washington will only end after we have fought battle after battle at the local level and taken our local and state governments back.

Rance: VERY true, especially about what kind of Americans we are. I’m not a European American…I’m an American. I have a heritage that I’m proud of from my European ancestors, but it doesn’t impact what kind of American I am. I served my nation as an American…nothing more and nothing less.

Ray: I agree about taking back local and state governments. Unfortunately, the system is rigged. Unless you are from the two major parties, you fight an uphill battle just to get on the ballot for the smaller races (but in Georgia, Libertarians can get on the ballot for governor without a problem oddly enough). I can’t help but feel that until alternative parties can get on the ballot easier, it’ll be harder to make our elected representative accountable.
