When Will Politicians Do The Right Thing?

When are the politicians going to do what’s best for the students? Isn’t that what this is supposed to be about? – Daniel Lancaster, 5th year student at Albany State University

So now the students at Albany State are beginning to complain about the lack of State funding for the Ray Charles Fine Arts Center – aka, their pork project – being cut from this year’s state budget, and the editorial board of the Albany Herald agrees with them.

It is alarming that so many people look to government for solutions to life’s every problem. Quite simply, government is there to enforce the Punch Principle (your right to swing your fist ends at my nose) and provide the things that individuals CANNOT – and government should do NOTHING and interfere NOWHERE outside of those strictly defined areas.
