The following was provided by the organizer of the Leesburg Tea Party, Micheal Sabot:
I haven’t been involved in a protest since I was in High School in the 60′s
But I am so angry and scared about where our country is going and what I see happening in Washington today, that something has to be done. Politicians don’t listen to one person, but they do listen to groups.
In more than 1000 communities across the country Tea Party protests are being organized. I am organizing a Tax Day Tea Party to be held April 15 from 5 – 7 pm at the Leesburg court house.
This is a protest to Big government out of control, Spending, Bailouts, Taxes, Debit out of Control.
Price of admission is 1 tea bag per person. All proceeds are to be hand delivered to Senator Johnny Isakson at his speech on April 17 in Albany.
As I told my sister last week, when you wake-up next year, and your eclectic bill goes from $70 to $300 a month for some global warming carbon tax, you get what you deserve.
Mike Sabot
Admission Price Update – Due to Continued Spending, Intrest and Future Infation and Budget
Adults 1 tea bag
12 – 18 2 tea bags
12 and Under 3 tea bags

The following is an email I sent to each of the State Senators in the SWGA area, including my own Senator, Senator John Crosby.
Senator Crosby,
I hope this email finds you in time and that you are doing well. I want to ask you to please vote NAY on HB 160 when it comes before the Senate today. I believe it to be nothing more than a tax increasing money grab, and I further believe that it erodes individual freedoms by excessively limiting personal judgment.
For example, I’ve driven I-75 quite frequently in my life. I was born and raised in Cartersville and went to KSU for my degree, and drove the 20 miles or so back and forth on I-75 every day to class. I also live in Leesburg now, and for the first 9 months that I lived here I worked in Macon. 70 of the 100 miles, one way, between my home and my workplace were on I-75. While living in Cartersville, I also worked in Covington for 6 months, and the vast majority of that drive between home and work was on both I-75 and I-20, into and out of the heart of Atlanta – indeed, I used the very I-75/I-20 interchange that the Capitol sits within a half a mile of.
In that extensive driving experience on the Interstates, I cannot tell you the innumerous times I personally was driving 80 mph or greater and flowing with traffic! Had I been going any slower, I could have caused untold numbers of wrecks and/ or caused untold traffic jams. The same would be said of ANYONE who was going slower, due to fluid flow dynamics which play a heavy role in traffic flow and traffic flow analysis.
HB 160 won’t stop this excessive speeding of traffic in general, and will only cause certain people to slow down, leading to accidents and further congestion – both already major problems on our roadways, even here in SWGA.
PLEASE vote no on this measure.
Thank you for your time,
Jeff

My Friend sent the same letter to Freddie Sims that she sent to Carol Fullerton in this post, and this was Senator Sims’ response:
You are absolutely correct. Voters should have an opportunity to vote and they will! I have been in constant contact with Mayor Adams and Chairman Sinyard and they are both in agreement with the process being completed so that citizens can vote. Thank you for your interest.
Freddie Sims

ATLANTA – John Monds will be announcing his intention to seek the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s nomination for Governor with a press conference at the Capitol in Atlanta with family, close friends and supporters by his side Wednesday, March 25th at 4:00pm.
During his campaign for Public Service Commission (District 1) in 2008, Monds became the first Libertarian to break one million votes in the United States.
Monds and the Libertarian Party believe Georgians are ready for something new and different. “It’s difficult to tell the difference between Republicans and Democrats; both want to raise your taxes, waste your money and increase the size and scope of state government,” said Monds.
“We must be competitive in the 21st Century. We must have meaningful tax reform that allows businesses and individuals to thrive, a transportation system that eases congestion without raising taxes, an education system that gives more choices and returns control to the local level and we need to stop wasting the taxpayer’s money with mandated long term incarceration of individuals for non-violent victimless infractions of the law”
John Monds, 43, is a graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in Banking and Finance, President of the Grady County NAACP and currently serves on the Grady County Planning Commission.
He resides in Cairo with his wife, Dr. Kathaleena Edward Monds, and four children, Akintunde, Cazembe, Halima and Malik.
You can read more about John Monds at www.VoteMonds.com.
The Libertarian Party is Georgia’s third largest political party and the only party in Georgia promoting fewer taxes, less government and personal liberty for all Georgians. To learn more, please visit www.LPGeorgia.com.

First, let me state for the record that I believe ALL of these ‘recognition resolutions’ are an absolute waste of time. I know the Senate typically spends a good 30 min to 1 hr each day on these, time which could be better spent debating actual legislation. That said, If you REALLY want to pass this, and I still say it is a waste of time regardless, all ya gotta do is amend it as follows and the vast majority of the objections would be settled:
A RESOLUTION
Honoring President Barack Obama on becoming the 44th President of the United States and recognizing President Barack Obama as an honorary lifetime member of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2009, Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States and the first African American to hold this most important and powerful of world positions; and
WHEREAS, prior to becoming president, Barack Obama faithfully and diligently served as a member of the Illinois State Senate from 1997-2004 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, serving from January 3, 2005, until November 16, 2008; and
WHEREAS, President Barack Obama was a highly distinguished member of both the Illinois and United States Senates and has a long and distinguished career as a public servant and representative of the people; and
WHEREAS, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is a nonprofit charitable and educational organization established in 1973 with a vision to set the standards for black legislators and other political leaders in the years to come and to boldly assert the power of the black vote and the power of the black voice: and
WHEREAS, the primary purposes of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus are to promote the general welfare of minorities and other citizens of Georgia in matters of health, welfare, education, criminal justice, employment, and economic development; to stimulate professional and intellectual growth; and to advance the study and implementation of solutions to the problems of all citizens of the great State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, throughout his political career, President Barack Obama has enjoyed an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, vision, and passion for public service, and no one could be more worthy of special honor and recognition by the members of this body and the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus than this extraordinary leader.

The following is an email sent to State Rep Carol Fullerton by a friend of mine. This friend’s name has been taken out at his/her request.
Hello, Carol,
Although I rarely express an opinion about pending legislation, and have not yet seen Mr. Rynder’s proposed consolidation/vote bill, I’m moved to voice my opinion.
I feel (strongly) that voters should be allowed to make their wishes known. If the WALB report was correct, it is my understanding that Mayor Adams and Jeff Sinyard feel that they should have been allowed to make their wishes known in advance (and, I assume, in opposition).
They, as voters, could express that opinion at the same time as all the other registered voters who might be affected by consolidation–at the polls. Two people, each of whom could have a vested interested in keeping the county and city separate, should not be allowed to decide for everyone else what will happen.
I do not even know yet what my opinion would be (not having seen the proposed legislation), but I do not want that choice to be taken away from me by those two people, for whom I did not, and will not, vote.
Please help us, the voters, have a chance to voice our opinions at the polls.
Sincerely,
Friend of Jeff’s
And this is Rep. Fullerton’s response:
Thanks, Friend of Jeff’s for your note. I appreciate your thoughtful opinion about being able to vote for the consolidation issue. Freddie and Winfred need to hear from folks as well. I think it might be just the thing our community needs to get it on a better track.
My name is on the resolution. I am encouraging the Mayor and the Chairman to sit down and let’s look at a timetable to review options and hopefully accomplish this project. Many thanks, Carol

There is much talk going on in libertarian/constitutional circles about the MIAC report on domestic terrorism released last month. Assuming that this is a copy of the actual report – and it appears to be so – allow me a few moments to discuss this, if you will.
First off, this report describes the rise, fall, and re-emergence of the American Militia Movement. Many of these types of people are domestic terrorists, whether they like the label or not. It describes the various conspiracy theories, including the NWO/NAU and Jew-controlled banking. These are ACTUAL conspiracy theories, and are somewhat popular in certain circles within the libertarian/constitutional movement.
Beginning on the bottom half of page 4 (of 8 ) of the report, ‘Militia Trends’, including ideology, training, and symbols are discussed. Many of these are fairly routine and, in my view, accurate. These include ideologies such as strong fundamental Christian beliefs, white supremacy, and the Sovereign Citizen movement. The training aspect discusses the military-style training many of these militias do, up to and including using actual military-grade manuals and training gear, such as MILES.
The ‘symbols’ aspect is where many in the libertarian/constitutional movement were caught off guard, but here again, I believe this to be accurate, if unfortunate. Page 7 (again, of 8 ) begins talking about Political Paraphernalia these groups usually subscribe to, and specifically mentions ‘It is not uncommon for militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty, or Libertarian material. These members are usually supporters of former Presidential Candidate: Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr.’
DUH! You don’t exactly see your typical leftist Green/Democratic Party anti-gun peacenik running around learning how to fire automatic weapons! If you tell me someone in the US has an AK-47 or AR-15, I’m NOT going to assume they voted for Al Gore or John Kerry! This is simply blatantly obvious, whether the more sane of us in the libertarian/constitutional movement like it or not.
And this is my point: To me, this report doesn’t so much describe a potential government attack on the rights of us in the libertarian/constitutional movement so much as describe – accruately – that domestic terrorists tend to be extremely misguided militants who believe similarly to us, but don’t mind using force to get their way.
Personally, I take seriously that pledge when I signed up for my LP membership that says “I do not believe in or advocate the initiation of force as a means of achieving political or social goals.”
To me, this report says that we have a serious image problem, and that we have to use every method at our disposal to make sure that the Militia image is NOT the image of the libertarian/constitutional movement that the public sees. Instead, we need to work to show them the completely rational and sane members of our movement who are working to achieve our goals in peaceful manners.
Much like the Black Panthers and Nation of Islam during the Civil Rights days, the militias will make us look crazy if we let them. Instead, we need people of the caliber of Martin Luther King Jr to rise up and show the American people that our cause is indeed just, and we are indeed sane, rational people.
But the hysteria over the MIAC report is unjustified, and only makes our cause look all the more paranoid.
